Reflect!

HELLO homosapiens :D
first, let me warn you but my reflection is in typically informal style, hope you all dont mind :x

My 'Ncc Kayaking Sea Competition' Reflection.

The Ncc Kayaking competition turned out to be real fun for me, as compared to the previous 2006 competition, which was such a disaster! (in a way)
I can still remember feeling so bored that i fell asleep (oops), which i assumed would be a pretty similar feeling i would get for this 2007 competition.

However, i was pleasantly surprised that everything turned out to be awesome, and i got the time to bond with crytal, secrene, pamela, veronica and clara!
It was mighty fun i tell you.
Really too bad i didnt attend on the first day ):

anyway, back to more important stuff.

I loved doing the commentating job, where we stand at the mike and just talk our feelings out. It just comes to show that when youre doing announcements, your voice is the boss. Your voice brings out everything, especially when youre reading results.

I find that the most difficult thing to do is to encourage the crowd to cheer and get high.
We cant simply command them to cheer, its obviously their own decision.
But i really think that if we simply say it right, it would uh, sway them to cheer?
Well, something like that, but i cant figure it out.
somebody, enlighten me please.

The crazy schedule was really rushed for me, as i like to take things easy.
Once the competitions began, they simply went on, one after the other. However, after each kayak race, Minyen (first half) and Clara would debrief us. I really admire the both of them that they are able to take so much responsibility and teach us how to improve ourselves but have fun at the same time. This really takes the pressure and stress off all of us. I think you both make me feel really secure and puts me in an easygoing atmosphere. :D
thanks truckloads for being there for all of us,
especially minyen, since it was her birthday that day!
shes aging fast huh.

Prize Presentation

The prize presentation was a blast, it was great having to improvise quickly and say what was on the paper!
Strangly, despite the miscommunication and pressure at that time, i really enjoyed it and savour the moment :D
Plus, you know youre in the limelight when your voice is the one that people are listening to :D
It was pretty tough but im glad everyone kept their cool and didnt panic. That moment had drastic changes, but it taught us how to think on our feet fast and efficiently.

At the end of it all, its been a really enriching and fantastic experience for me. I also want to add on to the secondary ones that you all are doing a great jobbbbbb. :D I think Crystal had alot of stress that day as she attented on the first day and knew most of what was happening, thus she was our main in-charge :D I totally admire her and i had superly fab fun. Our bonding that day was incredible and i enjoyed every moment of it.
Cant wait for next years Ncc Kayaking Competition! :D

Much thanks to everyone for the fun, laughter and food that we shared, which i will cherish ;D

hugs from me!
Paulyn!

My Reflection for NCC kayaking sea competition

Well, seriously, I really enjoyed it, especially on the 2nd day when we had prize presentations. Although the 2nd day was rather stressful as we had to improvise, I still find it really memorable and honored to be able to be one of the emcees there. Yes, the 2nd day there was indeed tiring as Clara wanted me to be kind of the in-charge there as I had gained some experience from the 1st day. However, I felt really blessed and relieved when all of us were united and treating each other so friendly and harmoniously. I really enjoyed the good rapport with everyone. We even had time to gossip! (Secret! Shhh…. Haha!)

I did not really like the 1st half of the 1st day as it was quite a bore. We had to make announcements, do this, do that although we were not that familiar and comfortable with the machines and the commentating tactics and skills. However, after a few hours of chilling and familiarizing with the surroundings and people, I got more enthusiastic and energetic. I tried my best to accommodate and get accustomed to Clara’s instructions and accomplished almost all of my tasks at the end. However, I was not very satisfied and contented with my performance on the 1st day as I did not have much commitment yet.

However, I managed to try my best to get myself in the right mood for commentating and I eventually felt really comfortable. I did not really dread the long hours compared to the first day. I enjoyed commentating and getting used to the hectic and busy schedule.

From those two days, I have learned many many many useful stuff such as being a confident emcee, knowing how to improvise and complete a task in a messy situation and some commentating skills. I also don’t mind sharing some of my experiences and skills to those who are keen to learn. =)

I would also like to seize this opportunity to thank Clara. She has been a great leader and in-charge for the whole NCC sea competition. I seriously admire her as I know it is really difficult to be a responsible and efficient leader. She helped us sort out some stuff and made our jobs easier. Although she might be kinda harsh and strict at times, I know it is all for our own good right? Clara, I bet no one really blames you for being harsh to them. To show my heartfelt thanks, I would like to confess something right here, right now.

CLARA THANKS A MILLION! YOU ARE SUPERB=))))))))))))))))))

I would also like to thank somebody, although it is kinda out of point.

MINYEN YOU ARE THE BEST! NO MATTER HOW WELL WE SCORE FOR OUR CHINESE PROJECT, WE WOULD STILL GIVE YOU A TREAT CAUSE THIS IS JUST WHAT YOU RIGHTFULLY DESERVE. =)

In general, the NCC kayaking sea competition has been a fruitful and enjoyable one and I will remember it always.
I’m lovin’ it. THAT’S ALL! =) Crystal Ong =)
